Coding isn't just about maths and science

Our Creative Computing Club offers an opportunity to learn how computers work and how to build fun and interesting things that ignite creativity.

The Museum of Code

Discovering the computers of the past

Our museum provides a way to understand how computers from past worked. Each week, we look at different elements of computing history, discover technologies and learn about the people who made it happen. Then we get to try it all out ourselves!

The Museum of COde

We transport children back to a time when computers were, in some ways, simpler to understand. We leverage the constraints of these older systems to foster new ways of thinking.

Sprite animation

This term we are learning about Sprites.
Sprites are used to create computer images and animation. They are fun to make and are a great way to learn how computer programs can provide interactive content.

What a pixel and a sprite is
How to use sprites to create your own designs
How to create animation frames with sprites
How to receive and respond to user input
Bonus: Using sound effects and animation together

At the end of the term there will be the opportunity to showcase the work produced in an interactive demo that parents can also enjoy.
